The interview was handled over the phone and was generally informal. The call was between the hiring manager, a senior tech, and me. He went over what the job entailed and what they expect from me. They were also interested in my class schedule and graduation date.

Got an email back about a week after I applied, had a short information session/casual interview over Zoom, then an in-person interview and lab tour with my researcher. Straightforward, communicated from the beginning that it was a position with limited hours that continued over the school year.
