Initial communication was normal and professional, I had a phone screen then a follow-up with a team member. They asked me to come in-person for a ~3 hour panel interview, so overall spent about 4 hours total interviewing with them, and multiple hours learning about the company on my own time. A few days after the interview, I received the most generic, short-form rejection email from the company which didn’t include any reasoning as to why they rejected me. I replied in a professional manner asking if they could provide a reason for my own knowledge so that I could improve in that area/areas for future interviews. They did not reply, even after I nicely followed up. It’s not a very good feeling to put in so much time and effort with a company just to have them reject you and provide no reasoning. I chose neutral instead of negative because the folks I interviewed with were professional, but they really need to be more respectful of the interviewee’s time (I had to take a personal, unpaid day off work for the in-person interview).
