I was called by a hiring manager inquiring about my skills. I accepted the offer to interview.
Three phone interviews including a tech screen. Each call was with a female of Indian descent who were all very intelligent and polite. After passing the phone screen you are invited onsite to speak with 4-5 people (most via video) and give a presentation. There is also a tech screen if you're invited on site and it's not pleasant. Although the people there seem to come off nice they are not the best communicators. Most companies I've interview with simply want to see my presentation skills and don't put a lot into what the content is. Akamai wants more. They give you an online company to research and instruct not to have more than 6-8 slides. What they don't tell you is that they expect you to bring up the company website during the presentation and show them (Akamai acts as the customer) which pages load slowly and should use a faster CDN. You should ask a lot of questions about what is expected for this presentation. The most disappointing part of this process was the initial recruiting manager said they didn't want a "know it all" but someone who is eager to learn and is a good team player. I had knowledge of CDN but no direct experience. However, during the interview I felt sabotaged at the second tech screen (Indian male) kept asking questions that didn't pertain to my work experience. He asked only about what he was good at discussing. What started out so nice ended with a splat. Waste of time and money for me. Use this info to do better!

Since I don't care at all about money, I asked for the exact same salary I currently earn, instead of asking for 20% more than my current salary, which is what literally everybody does.
The recruiter accused me of thinking only about money and made clear no assessment of my skills would have been performed in order to establish if I'm worth that salary or not.
The day after I got an email stating that I was not selected.

First round is a screening by in-house recruiter, second round consists of an interview with a manager and technical interview with someone who's currently in the same (or similar) role. Final round is a presentation for a group of Akamai representatives.
