Ho presentato la mia candidatura tramite segnalazione di un dipendente. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Amazon (Atlanta, GA) nel mese di nov 2018
Colloquio
Started with a referral from a current Amazon employee (past colleague) for a marketing manager role . I completed an online assessment as a first step and a recruiter reached out a few days later via email to setup a 30 minute phone call to discuss the application. She was extremely nice and very helpful, letting me know that I was being moved for consideration from a marketing manager role to a vendor manager role due to my experience working in CPG brand & trade marketing. She also noted that she was working to find the appropriate "level" role for me given my fairly high level of experience.
The vendor manager roles at Amazon are similar to traditional retail buyers and my background was a good fit.
The next steps consisted of two phone interviews with current Amazon employees, both scheduled for 45 minutes. The interviewers were professional but robotic and seemed to read from the same script to start the phone call -- letting me know that we had 45 minutes and that we would be staying strict with the time, that they would spend 5-10 minutes reviewing the role and my background, followed by 30 minutes of STAR format interview questions, and wrapping up with 5 minutes for me to ask questions. It was very distracting to hear the interviewers type non-stop (and very loudly) during the phone interview -- both phone interviews -- and both interviewers were reading questions from an internal question bank. There was no opportunity or willingness to connect on a personal-level in either session. While preparing for the phone interviewers, I also took note of the in-person interview process described by others who had interviewed with Amazon -- which seemed to mirror the robotic and strictly scripted approach I experienced in my phone interviews.
Overall, it was a straightforward & fine interview process. After my final phone interview, I removed myself from consideration as I simply felt that the Amazon culture wouldn't be a good fit for me.

Walk me through a time when you helped a customer through a difficult process and what that looked like.
Give an example of a time when you were not able to meet a commitment. What prevented you from meeting it? What was the outcome and what did you learn from it?
Case Question: We’re thinking about launching a new replacement auto parts platform. Please consider the following question when answering:
How would you determine the market size?
How will you prepare for a successful launch?
What metrics would you look at to make sure you’re successful?
Do you think that we could have a competitive advantage in this space?
Screening call with recruiter, followed by 3 back-to-back interview loops. Interviews focused primarily on behavioral questions tied to Amazon Leadership Principles, along with an Excel assessment testing analytical and data manipulation skills.
The process was well-structured and followed Amazon’s typical interview format:
1. Recruiter Screening
* Initial discussion about experience, role scope, and expectations
* Basic behavioral and background questions
2. Hiring Manager Interview
* Focus on past experience, business impact, and ownership
* Mix of behavioral and situational questions
3. Interview Loop (3–5 interviews)
* Multiple interviewers covering different Amazon Leadership Principles
* Included a Bar Raiser interview
* Heavy focus on:
* Decision-making
* Trade-offs
* Metrics and impact
* Depth of ownership

You start with an online assessment, which is relatively easy. Then a recruiter reaches out to you if you pass and will ask standard hiring questions. After which, you will then have a phone screen interview and if you pass, you do an interview loop with 5 people. Which is insane for a role that does not pay 100K annually. They also make you go prepare 12-20 STAR stories that you should pretty much memorize.
