On the phone interview which was great. Got told I was the perfect person for the job.
Then went into store to handover identity documents and sign.
After that I was told I would get an online hazard perception test.... due to Covid no practical tests are now done.
Found out half an hour before the test that it was done via phonecall. Had a 45minute Theory test (not so much hazard perception at all!) loads of very vague questions and some very unrealistic scenarios.!! Argos should change the way they are doing the 'Hazard Perception' as via phone call it cannot really show how good of a driver the applicant is. Other companies have done it the correct way with a series of images where you have to click or type in an answer.
Other than that theory test phone call the staff were friendly and the process was easy.

the e-mail stated the interview would take 1 hour it took about 12 ninutes... the guy barely looked up from the pro-forma sheet of questions he was asking ...absolutely no social interaction at all.
I've recently retired after 30 years in the public sector at management level and was looking for some temp work over the christmas period I thought driving a van would be a good fill in.I'm not sure what argos are looking for using this method of interview no chance of getting over your own personality or work ethic at all.

Applied online through the company website and was invited for interview 3 days later. The interview was not a group session like others have reported but a 1:1 session with a manager (a much better set up). The manager was friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. The questions consisted of the basics plus some scenario based questions. The interview lasted 20 minutes approximately. I feel that this interview experience was much better than others I've been apart of. I did not feel 'outnumbered' by people sitting opposite as is often the case and nor was I made to feel nervous or anxious as some are made to feel in group style interviews. I was relaxed due to the fairly informal nature and as a result the manager got the best out of me. A positive experience all round.
You have just arrived at a house with 4 items to deliver. The lady who opens the door has 4 children and a dog. She asks you to bring in the items, unpack them and take away the packaging. You are on a schedule and have other items still to deliver. What would you do?
