      Colloquio

      I applied to MessageBird in mid December and interviewed with them in early January. The entire process took about 3 weeks. It included an initial call with the recruiter, an interview with the Hiring Manager, an interview with a colleague, and finally an assignment & presentation to a member of the leadership team. While the process was smooth and efficient, the final assignment and presentation was very vague and not well thought through. It was clear they hadn't put much effort into developing the assignment and had failed to provide any real context for the exercise. When I came in to present my approach to the problem, I sat through one of the most disrespectful interviews I have ever encountered. Considering that I had already spent significant time on interviews and had made it to the final stages of the process, I would have expected to be treated with more respect. The interviewer continually interrupted my presentation, continued to work on his laptop, and was extremely aggressive in his questioning. It felt more like an interrogation than an interview. The atmosphere became so uncomfortable and left me with such a poor impression of the company and overall culture that I withdrew my application the following day.
