Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto una settimana. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Block (San Francisco, CA) nel mese di lug 2019
Colloquio
Recruiter phone screen. Then a technical phone interview. The person who interviewed me was from a different team who had no idea what the role was for. This was discouraging. Also, this guy seemed super arrogant. Very uptight personality which was also discouraging.
First 5 minutes were him talking about his experience at Square. He spent another 10 minutes describing the problem. This left me with about 35-40 minutes to actually try to solve the problem which contained 4 parts. Last 5 minutes were questions I had for him.
During the one hour interview you're graded on code neatness, coming to a solution quickly, and explaining your thought process. Unfair grading with unrealistic expectations on the given problem. I can't imagine what their codebase is like if they're pushing their engineers to spit out solutions this quickly.
The actual problem was a made up question the interview formulated from a book. Shuffle a deck of cards given a set of shuffle rules. There were 4 rules. I managed to implement 2 of the rules in the allotted time. I found it difficult to do when he spent 15 minutes going off tangent on how he came up with the problem and what inspired it rather than giving the problem right away without all the background fluff.
Overall a very negative experience.

The interviewer was nice, and he is friendly and willing to give hint, the question has 2 follow-ups, it was hard to complete in time. The question was not a typical LeetCode
