I was invited for an interview after sending an email to the co-founder.
Having spent 45 minutes reading about Vokal, using the app, and writing a cover letter, I expected the HR person to spend at least 3 minutes reading my CV so that he could ask questions better than "tell me something about yourself."
Secondly, instead of sending me a meeting invite, the HR representative ( Ritesh R) informed me over phone to come to the office. But the meeting got cancelled as the interviewer couldn't come that day. Had he sent me an invite, the interviewer could have cancelled the invite and I would have saved two hours.
If that wasn't enough, despite repeated follow-ups, I heard nothing from the recruiter who had said that he will schedule the interview some other day. When this issue was escalated, the HR guy replied curtly that there was no position in the first place.
All in all, it was a disappointing experience. Any startup which wants to make a dent in the universe should first hire recruiters who can speak nicely and act professionally.
