Probably the most disrespectful interview process I’ve ever encountered. Ageism is rife at BA. I was invited by an independent recruiter to apply for a role and reviewing the job spec we both agreed I was an extremely strong candidate. At first stage, all other candidates were eliminated. I was then invited to a face to face interview, conducted in a very busy canteen. No privacy. Easy interview. Feedback via recruiter: they really liked me, no question on my skills, but questioned if I had the”energy” to do the role! I’ve never, in my life, been described as low energy nor insulted. Am I mature, yes. I walk more than 10k steps day. I’m no couch potato. Took them weeks to provide a final rejection decision. Shame on you BA.com in breaking the law. Age is one of the 9 protected characteristics of employment / recruitment and you should know better.
