I applied for a marketing role at Christie's. Initially, there was interest in my profile for an interview, but the scheduling process was sluggish, and communication could have been better. I had to follow up to get an interview scheduled, and it was arranged for the following day, leaving little time for preparation. The interview felt rushed and seemed like an attempt to quickly get it over with. The interview questions were not related to the specific role and delved more into what partners/strategy worked with my current company, raising concerns about whether the hiring manager was genuinely assessing my fit for the position or simply expanding his own knowledge. He was actually a consultant in a different field. Obviously, I have had interviews before, but I have never experienced receiving a call the same day to say they were not moving forward based on a lack of knowledge of specific marketing areas that were not questioned during the interview. I flagged this in my feedback, and they said they would look into it, but I never heard back, even after polite follow-ups. I even prepared a presentation which I shared beforehand, for which I never received a thank you or acknowledgment, which are basic decent manners. The focus on non-role-related questions and the ghosting (after they said they would explore the situation) raised doubts about the fairness and objectivity of the selection process. Very disappointed in the whole experience, I wouldn't recommend putting effort into applying.

the interviewer seemed really professional but definitely, but this company definitely does not have many positions or needs for interns which means the competition is tough and not easy to gain an offer.
