I applied for a role via LinkedIn I was reached out to via messages on LI to arrange a screening call. A time and date was set and I was sent a meeting link. The time for the call comes and I join the call, no one from the business joins. 10 minutes later I send a message on LinkedIn to check we were still on for the call, I received no reply. The next day I send another message to say: I’m sorry we seemed to miss each other but i’m available to rearrange. As I’m sure there must have been a good reason for the call to not go ahead, and surely the business wouldn’t just ghost a candidate. But I received no response to that message either. It’s a shame that this is another business that doesn’t seem to respect candidates enough to be honest or upfront with them. Had they changed their mind about speaking to me then I would have appreciated being told that, rather than moving around childcare to make the screening call, only to be ghosted.
