The interview process for this job was bizarre and uncomfortable from start to finish. Not only did they waste time asking me simple questions I had already answered in their application like how long I had worked at other jobs and the names of my previous employers they also rushed me through my answers and interrupted me often. I understand it is a high-pressure job and that one would need to be able to handle oneself under pressure but it strikes me as unprofessional to interrogate your potential employees. As I was talking about my previous work organizing for LGBTQ students at my college they responded with a tone that made me believe they didn't care at all about queer issues which is a huge red flag for an org that claims to care about diversity. the job in question has also been listed three times in my area at this point and they have wasted the time of some of my fellow organizers as well. overall it seems they are on the hunt for one perfect candidate who doesn't exist and in the process wasting lots of good organizers' time and energy as part of the interview requires you to do unpaid labor.

It's not worth it. Pro tip: Never travel to interview for a job that will pay ~$38,000 and still require 60 hours a week. (There's a reason it's salaried and not hourly!) The interview process is far too protracted because the gravity they think their work has doesn't really correspond with reality. And, if you're LGBTQ, watch out for any "faith-based" organization, even an ostensibily progressive one. Don't put yourself through this process.
