My interview was a four step process. Quick phone interview with area recruiter, in person interview with area recruiter, drug screening and final interview with Regional Director. The first interview was very general with scenario based questions. The final interview was over 3 hours in length as the Regional Director really tried to delve into my motivation, my personal goals, my current skills sets. I left that interview with such an excellent perception of the company that I would have spoken highly of their practices even if I had not been hired.

My initial interview with human resources started off awkwardly as he said that he's not going too interview me, just had be a conversation. At the end, I was told that I'm overqualified and asked if I would even like to proceed. (Very discouraging) After my second interview with an Olive Garden GM and director of operations I was excited for the first time. That interview went well and I was told that I'll be contacted by HR "by tomorrow" with an offer. I was sent an auto generated email one week later. It felt like unorganized and like my time was not respected. I would not work for them in my local market.

The interview was Short and to the point. I met with the Director of Operations in Olive garden in Austin, Tx and we immediately hit it off like we were old pals. The key is always finding something common with the other person or a group of people. It establishes likability and trust and opens up and relaxes a person. People are most vaunerable when their guard is down and thats when you present your case and win them over.
