5 mins phone 'interview'. Was told at start of call that a buy out was taking place so the company might be changing and therefore job might be changing. Asked if I had US experience. That was it. End of interview! Got an email a week or two later saying job had been filled. Appalling brand management.

I didn't have a chance to get in touch with them. A head hunter was a proxy. After some boring cliché epithets about the company I was told that my CV will be forwarded to DisplayLink. Then for some time nothing, silence. Suddenly I received a call from the recruiter saying that they might be interested and there is a coding task that needs to be done. You have to create an RGB color ramp. It is a command line application. The inputs are RGB values of the 4 corners (lower left, lower right, upper left, upper right). Simple interpolation is all you have to do. Then there was a silence again. Since the entire task requires a few hours to complete, I didn't want to let it go like any other. I mean if I was willing to invest my time on solving the problem, then the other side should have been fair enough to invest 20-30 seconds in writing a decent answer, positive or negative. What I received after asking for a application status was a vague rejection saying that the ramp was ok, but not strong enough (whatever that means). I accept the rejection, but the explanation was really unprofessional.
