    Moved pretty quickly with first three steps. After the first zoom interview they told me I would hear about next steps for the final round within the coming days. It has been two weeks and nothing. I reached out- no reply. Very unprofessional. Moved forward with different opportunity that actually had respect for my times.

    A 20 minute phone screen was all they did before sending me a case study that was clearly intended to be a MAJOR investment of time. It took me ~8 hours to complete with a 48 hour turnaround expectation, despite not having enough context on the role yet to really know if I was interested myself. They promptly progressed me to the next round, talking to 2 more people from the team, and that conversation seemed to go well -- they alluded to next steps and suggested I'd hear quickly about proceeding. Note that at this point, I'd invested over 10 hours in the process thus far, and was told there would still be 2 more rounds of 2 interviews each. No one had really asked about my experience or background, just hypothetical DoorDash-specific scenarios and gauging how I'd approach them. Then, 2 days later, I got a brief rejection email with no feedback or acknowledgement of the major time commitment, and despite signals from the team to the contrary. I think if you have people do free labor for you as part of an interview process, you at least owe them feedback on your work or your interview responses. Also, I applied nearly 3 months before they reached out to me for an initial conversation.

    As an aside, I generally think take-home projects are best as a second-to-last step (prior to executive-level conversations and signoffs), once everyone involved has mutually agreed on the potential fit, not a first step.

    1) Interview w/ Recruiter
    2) Interview with HM
    3) Then was told by HM I qualify more for another position on a different team, then passed over to another Recruiter
    4) Another Interview with a different HM, then asked to complete a take-home assessment/ case-study within 3 days. I was sent this case study on a FRIDAY, so I had to work throughout my entire weekend to submit on MONDAY.
    5) I never heard any responses regarding my case study from the recruiter or hiring manager after I reached out more than twice... Not even a courteous rejection!!
    ***This has to be the absolute worst candidate experience I have ever had. Very inconsiderate of their candidate's time or interview experience. Maybe they have you complete this case-study just to get your ideas or knowledge, the case study is open-ended and they are not asking for a specific thing. Just "look at the dataset and give us recommendations to improve our business model"-- what is that????****

    I have reached out to the recruiting@doordash.com to get some insight on if this is a standard business practice... all in all, 0/10 would definitely not recommend.

    The interview process was horrendous at DoorDash. I applied online and heard back from the hiring manager fairly quickly. Then there was about 3 weeks of silence, so I sent an email to follow up. Within 30 minutes, a recruiter emailed me to set up a time to speak. After that, I was moved forward to the data analysis assignment round. This is where DoorDash showed their true colors. They gave me a gigantic dataset, and told me to "make some conclusions" within THREE DAYS. Any data analyst knows that without a targeted question, or even clean data, this is a huge task to take on. I spent every free minute I had, working through Python and R to analyze a specific portion of the dataset (even after asking for further instruction DoorDash did not help) and created a presentation, along with code for linear regression analysis as well as NLP.

    I am 99% sure I did their project for them -- the data looked legitimate. After sending them the project, they took a week of silence then rejected me. The recruiter told me specifically that the hiring manager had feedback for me, and after following up with the hiring manager 3 times with no response, I gave up. DoorDash is taking advantage of their candidates' hard work and won't even take a minute to respond as to why 36 hours of work went down the drain. I've been turned off from DoorDash as both a customer as well as applicant.

    RESPECT YOUR CANDIDATES TIME!!!

    An initial conversation with the recruiter, followed by 2 rounds - 1 with the Hiring Manager and a final round of interviews with the team. Overall a very positive experience, folks were timely and friendly throughout the process.

    Despite not getting an offer, the recruiter was willing to share feedback and setup a call in person on opportunities for improvement and how I could apply again if I was interested in future.

    1st round = 10 minute call with the recruiter. It was scheduled for 15 mins, but started late. Overall felt like a speed dating round and was barely able to learn more about the role.

    2nd round = 30 minute call with hiring manager. The manager just dove into questions about "why operations?" and made it sound like the reason why they had the call with me is because they weren't sure about why I wanted to move to operations. It wasn't only until halfway in until she chose to explain more about the role. I expressed what I found interesting and a challenging about the role, but felt the entire time that she was waiting for me to say negative things about my existing role or company. Also, call dropped midway and I had to be the one to call back and she pretended as if it didn't happen and kept talking. So strange.

    Heads up, this role has pretty crazy working hours. Manager mentioned meetings at 8pm being standard and needing to be on-call whenever work needs to get done.
