      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto un giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso ENGIE (Newcastle, England) nel mese di mag 2018

      Colloquio

There were about 25 of us in the initial process a diverse group from all backgrounds and ages. That was a good sign I thought. We were given a short introduction to the company and their goals. There was a number of staff involved in the evening. The whole process was over two hours and they explained it could take longer. Some were asking even in the first 10 mins at what time it would be over. I had someone from the company who asked me to the interview he was rude and abrupt. No people skills when I commented that it would be an evening interview. I was being polite and making conversation as to sound enthusiastic on the phone. We were they given a numeracy and literacy test. Some of it wasn't easy by any means. We were then split into groups where we were tasked with picking items from a list that we would taken on a desert island. I unfortunately had the same person who had contacted me on the phone doing an assessment with another member of staff. They were writing down how people responded. I remember commenting on something to another in the group and I saw him shake his head and say 'no' to the other member of staff. I knew from then on in I wasn't going to get the job. He had made his mind up then. He didn't have the ability to open his mouth properly so when he talked he looked and sounded strange. Of course I got him and the senior boss from my interview part and he was stoney faced throughout the interview. I tried to be upbeat and enthusiastic in my answers but he stared blankly at me and hardly wrote anything down. It was written on his face that he had already decided within the first minute of meeting me that I wouldn't get the job. I was told that a decision would be made by the end of the week and maybe into the next. I was telephoned at 11am next day say I was not successful. I knew I hadn't been by the unprofessional body language of this 'manager'. If this is the sort of person who is quite incompetent and rude at the beginning of the interview process I certainly would NOT want to work with him in the office. The management need to weed this out of the interview process. Do not allow these sort of people to hire as all it will do is create a system of whose face fits processes. I was glad for the experience and learned to be aware of people like this. He was desperate NOT to shake my hand at the end of the interview but I made sure I did with professionalism. Poor management style.

Four stages of interview, the last stage is with the board of directors and they all take turns in asking you questions. It was a bit overwhelming but interesting too and I enjoyed it
