It was a phone interview. I was really nervous but PI was very straightforward. She first asked what I was looking to get out the job and where my interests lies. Then she explained her interests and we thought about how to combine them.

I applied online, then i got an offer for an interview in person. The interview was 30 mins, they asked about my background and my experiences and weeks later i got the offer.

Just sending the professor you interested. And then, if they are not replying, you will just need to politely add a follow-up message. Then if the professor interested you, they will have a coffee chat with you
