I spoke with the hiring manager first via phone where we went over my experience, background, and projects as well as their position on the team, Eventbrite, etc. After successfully completing that, I then spoke to a recruiter more about Eventbrite as well as why I was interested in working there. Then, I was given a take home test which I was given to complete for review.
I did well on the take home test and was contacted again to come in for a round of 1:1 interviews to discuss the test (met with a software engineer, designers, and CD) as well as a portfolio review. No gotcha type of questions but just more in depth questions about my experience and background as well as my thoughts of the test. The portfolio review consisted of the whole team whom I would be potentially working with - designers and creative director. Again, just thorough explanation of your projects - challenges, your thought process, things you would do differently, outcome, etc.
While I did not make it past this step, the process was very smooth and pleasant. I appreciated the quick and speedy response along every step of the way from initial conversation to on-site. Everyone I met was very personable and friendly.
