Colloquio
Call with recruiters and the video calls with Gitlab Team Members. Some calls were really positive, well prepared and engaging. Others less so. The feedback after the process was very vague and unhelpful. I'd invested a lot of time and the lack of feedback demonstrated little respect for my engagement.

Colloquio
30 minute interview with the Recruiter > 45 minutes with the Hiring Manager > 45 minutes with two other People Operations employees > 45 minutes with a People Ops Business Partner > 45 minutes with the Director of People Ops
The interview process took two months, which seems like a long time, but this was mostly due to the holidays falling in the middle of all of it as well as some team member vacations that were scheduled already. It was nice talking with each person throughout the process and the responsiveness was great until the end. I was told I'd be given more information the Friday after my interview but I never heard anything. I had to contact the Recruiter myself the following Tuesday and from there I received a pretty generic email stating they were not moving forward. The online handbook says that asking for feedback is welcomed and Recruiters/Hiring Managers should get back to candidates in three days. I went ahead and requested feedback as I'm always looking for ways to improve, I did not hear back within the three-day window and I still have not heard back. I understand things are very busy, but my one piece of feedback is to maybe change that part in the handbook as it's better to say it may take longer to get back to candidates rather than over-promising and under-delivering. That just makes the company seems unresponsive so I would suggest adjusting that piece in the handbook. Or at least make sure the Recruiter is getting back to candidates letting them know it may take a bit longer to get feedback to them. At least you're communicating and not leaving the candidate waiting with no response, which can leave a bad taste in their mouth.
Overall, the process was positive and I appreciate the thoroughness the company puts into finding the right fit for each position. Better communication would really make a huge difference.

Everything went great until the end. I was progressing through the interview stages and was asked if I could attend the final round at an earlier time. I confirmed, but no invitation was sent. After following up, I was told scheduling had changed and someone else would be reaching out to me by that Thursday. No word until the following Monday, when an automated rejection email was sent out. I requested feedback (per the handbook, feedback is given if you've met with the hiring manager and team, which I did) and was met with silence. I know the company is going through a growth spurt, but I was very disappointed that the ball was dropped on my candidate experience, and especially since I was being moved onto the final round and then rejected with no background on why. Very unprofessional.
