      Colloquio per Account Executive

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 6 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Glassdoor nel mese di giu 2015

      Colloquio

The process took approximately 5 weeks. First call was with a recruiter, pretty standard background discussions. I was then asked to do an online assessment which was very thorough, brush up on your algebra! I didn't hear any feedback on the assessment, but was then scheduled for a 2 hour Skype call with 4 employees (1 person every 30 min). Each interview was very conversational and talked about similar things with each person like background, why glassdoor, etc. One discussion with a Sales Manager was almost entirely spent on a similar interest we had and I was rarely asked any interview questions. Towards the end, the 3rd employee an Account Executive, let me know that the 4th employee who was a Sales Manager would no longer be able to join in as he was in a meeting. Looking back, I would have asked to schedule an additional call with the Sales Manager who canceled because it is important in an interview process for everyone involved to have a good sense of who you are as a candidate. I was then scheduled for the 3rd round which is a mock sales pitch done over the phone and by sharing your screen for your ppt presentation. This call was with the same 3 employees from the previous interview plus the one who canceled. Not having any Glassdoor training, I was unable to "get the close" because I didn't have the pricing to present. One thing they are specifically looking for is to get each person on the call involved when asking questions. Ask each person about their individual role, and call out their names throughout the presentation. My mistake was asking questions for any of them to answer. It was semi-tricky to prepare for since the only info on the company we can use is what we find online, but it's pretty much to gauge how you sell and your way of going through the sales process. The following day I received the generic 'we're moving forward with other candidates' email. No feedback, but that's pretty standard. I was told by the AE that most candidates who make it to the 2nd and 3rd rounds are employee referrals, so if you're not (like I wasn't), make sure to work extra hard to make an impression.

      Domanda 1

If you make it to the sales pitch round, make sure to engage with each person on the call, even if one of them is doing all of the talking.

I applied for the Account Executive role at Glassdoor, but unfortunately, I was unable to proceed due to the low salary they were offering during the interview. They assured me that there were "accelerators" that would boost the comp up but even with those accelerators it still was not enough. The salary offered for this position is significantly lower than the industry standards, which was disappointing. As a company that prides itself on transparency and fair salaries, Glassdoor fell short in compensating their own employees. I was excited about the opportunity to work with Glassdoor, but the low salary made it impossible for me to consider. I hope that Glassdoor re-evaluates their compensation strategy, taking into consideration the value and experience that an Account Executive can bring to the table. Until then, I cannot recommend Glassdoor as a company that values their employees' hard work and dedication.

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience interviewing at Glassdoor. Glassdoor reviews its salaries on a regular basis, using qualitative information like your post as well as the acceptance rates of candidates, as well as comprehensive compensation benchmarking databases which help us understand how competitive we are based on different factors including company size and annual revenue. While there are some larger companies that may pay more, when looking at our packages holistically–salary, bonus, RSUs, benefits–we find that we are still very competitive as indicated both by our high acceptance rates as well as our low attrition rates. There is always more for us to learn and conditions can always change, so we are very appreciative of your feedback and wish you continued success in your search.- Danny Guillory, Chief People and Diversity Officer

Okay amount of contact with HR rep. It was an alright process. Three interviews with offer at the end. Not much different than other places I've interviewed at. Nothing special.
