      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso IntegriChain (Philadelphia, PA) nel mese di mar 2018

      Colloquio

To preface - I was a well qualified candidate coming from a fortune fifty. I was still employed but looking for an industry shift and to move to a smaller company. I'd interviewed dozens of people at this point in my career and been interviewed many times. I only say all of this to qualify that I'm not an undesirable candidate or someone straight out of college with little to no experience. This interview process was genuinely the worst interview I've ever been a part of. Several people have mentioned applying there and each one decided not to proceed after I told them about my experience. The process: I originally applied for an analytics position and was instead told I was being considered for a product role instead. After two phone interviews following an initial screening (one with recruiting and another with the position's direct manager) I was asked to interview at the Philadelphia office. I was schedule for four interviews, the first with the role's direct manager and the last being with someone in the same position as the role. The First (and worst) Interview The second sentence out of the interviewer's mouth was to let me know he didn't think my background would fit for this role. He then proceeded to conduct the interview with a tone and dismissive attitude that I thought only occurred in sub-par comedy movies. I was polite and interviewed as cordially as I would have if he wasn't rude. The questions he asked were all over the place and gave minimal insight into the role. He seasoned the conversation with a couple dashes of his opening sentiment, but said he wanted to proceed with the interview and meeting everyone. He insulted Philadelphia's talent pool a bit for reasons I can't explain. When I asked questions about the company's position relative to competitors he gave more detail than I personally would have. The interview ended the same way he opened it. I was seriously considering leaving but the second interviewer was already at the door waiting. It's a shame that he wasn't first, because he was extremely nice and we had a great conversation regarding the company and future plans. I would work indirectly with him so I felt this was more of a character/work style interview as he geared the conversation that way. The same goes for the third interviewer. It was pleasant and positive experience. Throughout these two interviews I was taking note of the people's faces I could see in the office. I didn't get any hints of a fun, friendly environment like it was sold as. The final interviewer was with the role's peer/counterpart. He seemed nervous and I got the impression that I was the first person he'd interviewed. The questions he asked were confused and felt like they came off of a google search for "Top 10 Interview Questions". At this point we were 4 hours in and I knew that I had no intention of proceeding and this was going nowhere. I was regretting wasting a vacation day for this dumpster fire of an interview. When he asked if I had any questions (after I had to ask him about the role to get some conversation going) I just said no I think we covered them all. I was done, this place was not for me and I was not for it. Recruiting didn't walk me out or ask me how it went. As I left, I took note of the absence of smiles, dark lighting and worn out feeling I got from the environment ( in fairness they did mention they were building a new office). I sent thank you emails to the two positive interviews. I never heard back from anyone. If I didn't know better I would have seriously doubted my value/performance after this experience.
