Throughout the conversation, it became apparent that the interviewer was more focused on undermining my value rather than genuinely assessing my fit for the role. They frequently downplayed my experiences and skill set, making condescending remarks that felt calculated to lower my confidence. This tactic seemed to be a strategic move to justify offering a lower compensation rate. Interviews should be an opportunity for mutual evaluation, conducted with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience felt more like an exercise in devaluation than a genuine effort to find the right candidate. I left the interview feeling not only undervalued but also questioning the company’s culture and ethics. I hope that organizations recognize the importance of respectful, fair interview processes. Candidates deserve to be treated with dignity, and no one should feel belittled in a professional setting.
