I applied for the position via the companies website. I received an email from a District Manager four days later asking about my availability to set up an initial phone screening to review my “overall career objectives and salary requirements.” They also stated “based on my initial review of your background and skills, your experience seems to be in line with our position requirements…” I replied to the email with my availability the same day. Two days later, well after traditional business hours, I received an email after 10 pm saying they had an executive visit and would not be able to accommodate due to their schedule now “being covered.” As someone who works in the industry, I understand this happens so I replied back the next morning stating the above and giving additional times to connect. I never received an email back. About two weeks later on a Sunday, I received an automated email stating “We have reviewed your background and unfortunately, we are not able to consider your candidacy at this time based on the skills and requirements of the position.” This directly negates what was stated in their initial email. Overall it was not a good reflection of the company and the individual representing/working for them. It was handled extremely unprofessionally. Also, I have been a District Manger and multi unit manager for about 10 years so while I may have not been the right fit for the role or organization, I do have the qualifications and experience!
