      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 3 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso NCSA College Recruiting (Chicago, IL) nel mese di mar 2015

      Colloquio

I applied to many positions online and got a phone call a week later about the Assistant Scout position. After 5 minutes, they scheduled a phone interview with somebody else for the following week. That interview lasted 30 minutes, and they wanted to schedule a Skype interview since I was away at school. I was going home that weekend anyway, so I said I could miss class on that Friday and interview in-person. They seemed very enthusiastic about this and I thought I was making a good impression by going above and beyond. This in-person "interview" consisted of me shadowing two different people, both of which were on the phone the entire time. So I basically sat there for an hour twiddling my thumbs. At the end, I got asked the same questions as the previous phone interview by yet another person. I was told I was a great candidate and they would get back to me by Tuesday of the following week. After I didn't hear from them on Thursday, I called with no answer and left a message. I got an email from someone else who I never spoke with saying someone else got the position. I was bummed, but commuting to Chicago every day only making $30,000/year didn't seem worth it. Also, after doing more research, I am glad I didn't get the position because they are scamming people into thinking their kid has a better chance at being recruited. They don't. Parents -- do NOT use an outside recruiting source! Do your own research! Almost every school has their own recruiting form you can fill out online, which is very similar to the ones NCSA use. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of collegiate athletic programs in many many sports. Talk to your children's coaches and athletic directors if you are unsure where to start.
