Colloquio
The interview process was quite interesting. I met with half the team for the interview. It started with a phone screen with the Talent acquisition team, followed by a round with the hiring manager. It felt more like a 2 way conversation than an interview, which i really enjoyed. Post this round, i met with 4 team members individually who helped me understand the role better and answered any questions that i had. Getting to meet with the team gives you very good idea about the team culture, and some other factors that you consider important in a role. This was really helpful. The final round was with the Sr. Director and it was 2 way conversation again. Overall a pretty impressive interview process

Q. How do you handle a situation wherein a customer tells you that they do not intend to renew?

The interview process with New Relic was overall positive. There were more than 5 steps between one on ones, panels and even a presentation. Everyone was rather pleasant during the process. The only issue is that the process took TWO MONTHS from first contact to final notice of not getting an offer. I was told someone was promoted internally for the role I interviewed for, which is good in the space of internal career growth, but doesn't gain back the time or effort put forward by myself and other candidates, only to be filled by someone that was with them all along.

Process:
1.) phone screen with HR rep
2.) on site with 4 team members (peers)
3.) on site presentation (who are you and why would you be a good for the role?)
Process took about 3 weeks (from initial phone screen to receiving offer letter.)
The team was very friendly and it’s more of a get-to-know-you as opposed to an intimidating, back-to-back questions interview.
Still be prepared to explain how your experience aligns with the role, read up on the company and what they do (high-level) and be ready to explain why you’re excited to work at New Relic.
Be your authentic self! They appreciate that.
