      Colloquio

Very strange interview process. Around eight interviews total: one with recruitment, two with the hiring manager, two in-person onsite, two virtual (CDO and Product Owner), and a final one with the VP of Ecomm. I felt a great connection with the hiring manager and appreciated their approach to wanting to find a good culture fit. However, the quality of the interviews declined as the process went on. At the onsite, one of the interviewers on the team for this role commented (somewhat condescendingly), “Oh, you’re a hand shaker,” (which caught me off-guard) and when I asked her role, she abrasively responded, “We don’t do titles here.” Red flags like these popped up, but I continued, as I really felt the hiring manager, the role, and the business was what I was looking for. I braved through it but grew really tired of the continued interviews with folks who just didn’t make sense or were unable to really tell me how the role interfaced with the greater business. By the last interview, I felt exhausted. What surprised me the most wasn’t the rejection, it was the canned automatic rejection response after so many interviews. I wouldn’t recommend continuing your interview process here if you see red flags pop up, and don’t believe their “culture fit” story. Any company that cared about fostering a positive culture that they tout wouldn’t have sent an auto-generated email after eight interviews. I probably dodged a bullet but am still disappointed. I hope the hiring manager finds what she’s looking for.
