I had a phone interview and an in-person interview. The phone interview was interesting because I could do some actual coding in my own environment. I think it's a pretty good way to get an idea of how the person actually codes. This removed any possible problems with unfamiliar environments that you may encounter in other phone interviews. I also had a few technical questions. I then went to the office to meet two engineers. It was a pretty standard interview. Overall a good experience - the engineers seem to know what they are doing and who they are looking for. I ultimately took another offer, but will remember PayByPhone as a very competent group of people and a great place to work at.
