I recently appeared for an interview at PW for the position of Cambridge English Faculty, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. While I didn’t have a strong intent to take up the role and went in just to explore, the interaction left a lot to be desired.
The interviewer, although very fluent, maintained a tone that felt unnecessarily critical and demotivating throughout. From the beginning, the comments were negative and somewhat humiliating, which made the atmosphere tense and unwelcoming. It was difficult to engage meaningfully when I felt more judged than evaluated. The camera wasn't turned on from the interviewer's end either, which further added to the disconnect and lack of professionalism.
On the other hand, the HR representative I interacted with was polite and respectful, which I appreciated.
Overall, the experience highlighted a need for better interviewer training, especially when it comes to maintaining professionalism and creating a constructive environment for candidates. This was not the kind of interaction one expects from an educational institution.
