The interview was very relaxed. You first speak with the professor and he asks you about your previous internship and research experiences. He will also ask you about the type of classes you are taking and the types of classes you want to take in the future. If he likes what he sees, then he will ask you to meet his other students. His other students will talk to you and tell you more about the position from a student point of view.

Direct online interview after appealing my interest. I was asked to introduce my research career. So, I presented about 30 mins with detailed technical points. After then, I was accepted.

Interviews occur by phone or not at all. Very different from other universities that have a more strenuous interview/vetting process for students. I think this is a problem with Purdue's graduate student recruitment.
