I had an initial phone screener interview, during which the interviewer read from a list of prepared questions. A week later, I received a follow-up call, informing me that the position had been put on hold for an indeterminate time. The company had decided to prioritize filling a different role first.

How would you prepare to interview a stakeholder? What’s your process?

Applied online and had the hiring manager reach out to set up a 30 minute phone call interview. The interviewer did not spend any time trying to get to know me - instead, they spent the entire 30 minutes asking "gotcha" behavioral questions and trying to poke holes in my experience. It felt like I was being interviewed by someone who had read a bunch of Forbes articles about how to interview people, but had never actually conducted an interview. They asked for the full name and spelling of my former managers five minutes into the interview as if they were going to do a reference check without my permission. Negative experience.

"tell me about yourself" - "When I reach out to your former manager, how would they rate your performance?" - lots of typical tell me about a time when questions.

I was in a ton of interviews while I interviewed at Realvolve. And this was the only place that actually sought to understand my strengths, as well as my story, what brought me to where I am and why. It was refreshing. Let's be honest, most interview processes are terrible, especially for entry level sales positions. But they put a lot of thought and effort into know who they are hiring more than just what college or whatever. This not only helps the process be more enjoyable, it also gives you confidence. When you feel like the company that hired you actually understands you to a degree, it makes a big difference.

The bast stuff: what college? What work experience? What's your story?
They have sales oriented questions as well so brush up. Been a while so I can't remember specifics as much.
