      Colloquio per Full-Time Receptionist

      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto più di 2 mesi. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Reliable Imports (Springfield, MO) nel mese di ago 2011

      Colloquio

I emailed my resume in response to a newspaper classifieds ad. It took about 2 weeks for me to get the call asking me to come in for an interview. I arrived for the interview and had to fill out a lengthy paper application, which was fine but I wish they had directed me to online access (there was none) so I could have just filled it out at home and brought it with me to save time. There was a very young attractive woman working at the reception desk. There was an older, not so attractive woman interviewing before me. I am somewhere in between, myself. When I finished the application there was no one at the reception desk to take it. Six or seven auto salesmen were standing around and no one offered me any assistance or even a smile/hello. I thought that was rude. Finally, the HR Manager came out of her office (after interviewing the older candidate for less than 10 minutes). She was warm and VERY professional, I was quite impressed. She didn't ask me a ton of questions but those she asked were pretty intense and specific, in relation to my last job (which was quite a bit more complicated than this position). I thought we had a good rapport and she gave me a LOT of details about the job, dress code, breaks, training, etc. So much so, that I pretty much thought I had this job in the bag. I was in her office for about 40-45 minutes and her demeanor as I left was like an old friend, and she said she would call me as soon as she talked to the hiring mgr. I was so sure that the interview went well, I sent her a thank you note saying thanks for your time and I enjoyed learning about the position, hope to hear from you soon (which I had not done in years). A week passed, then another. In confusion, I called to see if the position had been filled but she did not return the call. After about 7 weeks I got an email notifying me they had filled the position, and of course by then I had a different job anyway...but it was awfully strange and in all of my years of working I have never had such a wrong impression of an interview going very well.
