      In the beginning, the interview process was great. Had a 30 min phone interview with a recruiter. Then received an assignment. The assignment was to send out an interview confirmation email. Super easy since I did scheduling at a large company for 2 years. Afterwards, there was a video interview with a manager. Instantly once we got on the video call, the manager was stuttering, almost seeming surprised to see who was behind the resume and the assignment. We continued and chatted. She asked basic questions, but it seemed like she didn’t believe the high load of interview requests I was doing per day. Making statements like, “are you sure, um wow.” She also asked what my former bosses would say about me, she continued to repeat at least twice, “we do reference checks, um just saying, we do reference checks.” It seemed as if she didn’t believe my bosses would say good things about me. As I asked questions at the end of the interview, she began checking her inbox & typing on her laptop. The respect just wasn’t there and I believe they want to keep the company as little as diverse as possible, even if you are an overqualified minority. Barely 2 hours later, the rejection email was sitting in my inbox, with the manager barely needing to think if she wanted me on the team. The answer was on her face right when the interview began.

      Samsara has an amazing recruiting team. I had such a positive experience speaking to the recruiter and the managers. I felt so relaxed and at ease during my interview process, The entire time, the questions that I was asked felt like the team wanted to simply get to know me and hear my experience instead of feeling intimidated or being stressed about the next difficult question.

      They sent me a take home assignment with no heads up, wouldve complete missed. almost completely missed the assignment. terrible candidate experience probably not gonna apply for this company ever again. lol gl to everyone else.

      Marie Kondo is interviewing with Samsara! She is available for a phone interview on Fridays anytime, and Tuesdays after 1:00pm. Samsara conducts interviews on Mondays and Fridays only, so you schedule her phone interview for Friday at 2:00pm. She later emails you stating that she has an interview with Time Magazine at 1:30pm on Friday and asks to reschedule for Tuesday. How would you respond to Marie’s email? Subject Line: Email Body: Alicia Keys is getting ready for her onsite interview with Samsara! Please write a sample email to her, and include details on the following: flight itinerary, hotel booking, and onsite interview confirmation/details. She is currently in New York and will be staying in San Francisco the night before her interview. She then plans to fly back to New York the same day (in the evening) of the interview. Her travel preferences are included below: Departure Airport: JFK Date/Time Preferences: Departing JFK before 11:30am, arrive in the evening at SFO.
