      Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 2 settimane. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso Skillz (San Luis Obispo, CA) nel mese di ott 2018

      Colloquio

HR at Skillz initially reached out with an email after I had submitted my resume on Handshake (MustangJobs since I go to Cal Poly). The screening process consisted of a brief, 30-minute phone call with an HR rep for Skillz, that enabled me to ask any questions I had about the company and just get a brief overview of what the company is. I was also asked what languages I was most familiar with so that I could take a programming test in that language in about a week. The actual interview process consisted of a three-part interview that lasted about 2 hours in total. I interviewed at Cal Poly when Skillz was visiting on a recruiting trip. The first part was purely technical, with the coding problem being presented on a laptop with two windows open: Sublime text editor, and Google Chrome. I had chosen Python in my screening call, so that was the language I was instructed to use. I was also told I was able to use any online resources I could find (Stack Overflow, Google, etc.) and they would be back in 45 minutes to see my solution. After 45 minutes had passed, they returned to the room and asked me to step through my solution line-by-line so they could understand my thought process. While doing this, they would point out any errors or bugs that they could see and would ask me to fix them on the spot while explaining my solution. After that round, it moved to a semi-technical interview that focused on a project I had worked on in the past. They asked questions mostly around why I chose specific data structures or what our design process is. They also asked about my role on the team and how we all collaborated together (effectively or otherwise). After that second round, the final part of the interview was all culture-related, giving me time to ask about the company and just general questions. They also asked me some general questions about my resume, things I'm involved in, and what I was looking to do with my degree. After that, I waited about a week and then received an email about looking to schedule a follow-up call. During that phone call, I was offered the position.

      Domanda 1

What is the difference between an abstract class and an interface, and when would you use one over the other?
