      Standard phone screening and virtual interview. Company ghosted me after saying they would keep me updated on my application status. It is unfortunate that a candidate's time is not valued enough to send a simple rejection/feedback email out of courtesy.

      I was very disheartened when I saw this review, because we at Soft Tech Consulting, Inc., don't ever want to be one of those companies who "ghost" candidates, and doesn't provide status/updates to our candidates. I can only think, that because we had so many candidates we were working, that we inadvertently missed responding to you. And for that I truly apologize. It's an explanation, not an excuse, because as I mentioned, we never want to "ghost" anyone. We know the importance of an applicant's time is and how important it is for them to know where they stand when being considered for a position. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention, because it shows that our processes are not quite where we need them to be and we still have room for improvement. Please accept our apology and I hope your recruiting experience is a better one going forward.

      The CEO met with me one on one before having a group interview with two people in the office and two over Skype. Out of no where, she gave me a "sample test" over e.mail that took 3-5 hours to complete including back and forth adjustments through e.mail. It was making an infographic FROM SCRATCH with ALL the details such as colors, shapes, layout, font and sizes to be EXACT. No vector images were included and I had to extract them with Photoshop and perfect them one by one. Made absolutely no sense because those were arbitrary adjustments. I did my best to have faith in them. Anyone would have known this was a scam to get FREE labor. I obviously had the skills to complete the task and another manager said they were "impressed" at the presentation. They were bombarding me with really negative questions and forcing me to answer them in a way to pulverize my skills and capabilities at the interview. Guess what, Christine STOLE my infographic files - yes, raw files and supporting files and copied them from MY flashdrive and onto her laptop at the end of my interview. It was really disheartening when they lied about the test, faked the interview and stole someone else's hard work. I left the room motionless and couldn't help but think that I just got scammed. Simply despicable. Company and crew lack integrity and justice.

      Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on our interview process. Feedback helps us become a better company for our employees and our clients. We appreciate the time and effort you put into responding the graphic challenge, but we are sorry that you had a negative experience and felt that our screening process was unfair. Performing challenges that replicate actual tasks within the job description is becoming a standard part of the recruiting process and we, at Soft Tech, do implement challenges wherever we can in our recruiting process (for instance, we may ask developer candidates to participate in a coding exercise or ask technical writer candidates to develop an artifact) to help ensure we find the right match for our needs. I do apologize if you weren’t informed that a challenge would be a part of the interview process. We are reviewing our recruiting process to identify areas of improvement, especially in the area of candidate communication, to help ensure candidates are clearly informed of our recruiting process. We never want anyone to leave an interview feeling they were treated unjustly. As to the graphic you created for us, that was a recreation of a graphic from our library. We felt the best way to assess the skills of our candidates, as it pertained to our needs, was to have them recreate graphics, which was representative of the types of graphics our designer would be developing for our company. All final candidates for this position were asked to recreate the same graphic: this enabled us to compare the graphic skills of each candidate objectively. We never used the graphic you created and provided; it was only used as an assessment tool. Thank you for letting us know that we need to make our intentions clearer as to the purpose of challenges during our interview process.
