Extremely unprofessional. Do not waste your time with them. Process took over 2 months. I applied via email and had one interview with HR followed by another phone interview with a manager in the department. From there, they they offered to fly me down to their offices and then rescinded that offer because flight costs exceeded their budget, which was odd from such a large company but I digress. Instead we scheduled 3 Skype interviews with various managers. However, I ended up having 4 Skype interviews with one happening to my surprise because they failed to send an interview invitation/confirmation. Despite that, interviews went well and I was told I was going to be given an internship offer. A couple days later they called to tell me they were about to send the offer email, explained the acceptance procedure, and asked if I had any questions. Like any college student would, I asked if there was any possibility I could receive some help securing housing (paying first months rent, security deposit, moving cost). At the very beginning of the interview process they said they don't give out housing bonus, but I felt that it couldn't hurt to ask because the internship was due to start in a mere 3 weeks and because they had planned to fly me out earlier and ultimately didn't. I didn't specify any amount, only asking if it was possible. They said they would look in to it. Later that same day, I get a call letting me know they are rescinding their offer because I had asked for help securing housing for an internship starting in 3 weeks, 5+ hours from where I currently live. I was shocked. I could understand rejecting my request for help securing housing, but to TAKE BACK AN OFFER? That's horribly unprofessional, especially because asking for housing assistance is such a common practice. It's more ridiculous and insulting when I remember that I was accommodating and understanding when Spectrum Brands, a huge company with thousands of employees and millions in revenue, canceled flights citing monetary reasons and were unorganized in their interview scheduling. Yet, Spectrum Brands couldn't be accommodating or even understanding towards a broke college student asking for help securing housing to be THEIR intern.

The interview process was smooth and straightforward. There was one initial phone call with an HR representative and one in-person interview with the manager. I also had the opportunity to tour the building.
