it felt like a very personal interview and then felt like a very impersonal rejection- which definitely felt like a weird process to me. i unfortunately heard the same from others who applied here.

A formal introduction between the charge nurse of the unit that you are interviewing for. They asked a few questions to get to know you in general then asked questions regarding future interest and why you chose to interview here. They also give you an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have for them.
