Colloquio
I applied for this position in Outbrain's new San Francisco office.
I was originally called by a senior HR person from the NYC office who asked some pretty basic questions and was extremely friendly. It was a pretty easy interview and only lasted about 20 minutes.
Next, I spoke to an Account Strategist from the San Francisco office. She was also extremely nice and accommodating. The interview turned out to be more like a conversation and it was really easy to talk freely and normally.
NOTE!
Outbrain never did call me back after two rounds of interviewing. After attempting to get in touch with HR she never responded and I was never given an update on my application. It was extremely unprofessional for a company to not update my status after two rounds of interviews, and from what I have seen, I was not the first person to experience this. All in all, it seemed very flakey and I wouldn't have accepted the offer based on the bad taste the experience left in my mouth.

Long, but well informed and tough, they want to make sure they get the right candidate. As a result, mostly all employees are smart, nice people. The first step is a phone call with HR, then a video chat interview, then 2 separate in person meetings to interview with team members and senior staff and finally a presentation which not all potential employees go through.

I applied online and was contacted about two weeks after for a phone interview with HR. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and the girl was very sweet. She was probably one of the most enthusiastic HR girls I've spoken with. She mainly spoke about the role and asked about some of my experiences.
The next step was a Skype interview with someone I would be working with. The interview wasn't overly difficult, mainly discussing my past experiences and how things could relate to the job I was applying for. The interview lasted about 30 minutes.
Overall, I had good experience interviewing with the Outbrain team. My only complaint was I was told I would be contacted by the HR girl for "next steps" and never was. Obviously they didn't want to pursue interviewing me, which is fine but I would rather not think I will be contacted about "next steps" if I actually won't be contacted at all.
