I applied online and received a follow-up from the recruiter for a phone screen about 2 weeks later. The call was standard as they asked questions about my background as well as why Broad and why this role. They also explained about Broad and also the team that this role would align to. They had me scheduled for 2 hiring manager Google Meet calls the next day. What I learned with these calls was very different than what the recruiter had explained to me, for 2 examples: 1) the team wasn't at all what was described and 2) the person I talked to did not have the job title as explained by the recruiter, which I had to identify myself via LinkedIn and confirm with the interviewer their role within Broad. This interviewer mentioned that they wanted to know me as a candidate and it was okay that I wasn't already an expert in this role. I had to follow-up with the recruiter after they said they would update me by a certain date, which never happened. Days later, I received an update that they were looking for somebody with different experience. It truly was a messy, whiplash experience.
