There was no real interview. We sat down in the drop off room, the assistant manager read off my resume, explained briefly what the Salvation Army is about and asked how quickly I could start. This seemed like a location specific issue but the assistant manager talked for a good 15 minutes about how 'tough' she was as a divorced mother of x children, how many people she had fired since the stores opening, and to watch out for the shady people that come through the door. These were all red flags and had I not been desperate for a job I would have immediately declined.
