A four step process before I was eliminated. They sent an email asking: if I was okay with onsite, how long my commute would be and when I would be available to start. I responded and was asked to come in and interview. 1st interview (in person) with Dir of Product Design where I was asked a bunch of questions and the interviewer wrote down my answers. 2nd interview design challenge (in person). I was asked to design updates for one of their sites and fill in a worksheet answering some questions about my solution. 3rd interview (in person) with VP of Creative. The Dir of Product Design sat in, asked me more questions and typed my answers. They described the company as “startupy”. 4th interview (virtual) with Head of Marketing. They had reviewed my design challenge work (they only reviewed the worksheet, not my actual output.) They asked me to expand on a few past answers that had been recorded by the other interviewer. They asked me to go to my website and direct them to an e-commerce project. It was weird bc I don’t have any of that work in my portfolio as I’m under NDA on it. They also asked a lot of questions about how this organization was different from the types of organizations I’d worked for in the past.
