My first contact with Treeline was with the recruiting lead, who scheduled a phone screen where we walked through my general interest in the role, the company, and the industry. Because it's a startup and very little information is made public, the recruiter did a great job addressing my concerns about the company's stability and more. All in all, the phone screen was great. A few days later, the second step was a panel interview via Zoom with a varied group of people (different departments, different levels) in a one-to-one setting. The full panel took a few hours, but each conversation was ~30 minutes and covered different aspects of the role. It also seemed like they had coordinated behavior-type questions. For example, somebody asked several questions about my communication style, while the next asked about how I work in a team setting. It went surprisingly smoothly for an all-virtual session, and the people I spoke to were transparent about the challenges of the role and company while also sharing what brought them to Treeline and why they made the leap. The last step was an onsite visit, and I spent time with the hiring manager and a few others, touring the space, and answering a few more role-specific questions. It felt like it was as much an opportunity for me to develop a comfort level with the job, company, and team as it was for them to interview me. Overall, it was a positive, straightforward experience, and I appreciated the open communication with both the recruiter and the hiring manager throughout.
