      Colloquio

Called to come in for a interview at the store. Manager was busy with another interview, so they had me take an online assessment test to help speed up the process. Consisted of probably 20-30 questions. First part dealt with reading coupons/invoices/etc. Such as, which of the following is not guaranteed by the coupon. There would be a coupon with the expiration date and quantity allowed, etc. and you had to choose from 4 multiple answers. Pretty easy. Some dealt with how you'd handle certain work situations, like what would you do if you were backed up with customers and you were the only cashier. Again, 4 multiple answers to choose from, but for these, it was sometimes hard to figure out which one was the best to choose. The last questions were basic math questions, such as a customer's total is $7.13 and they hand you a $20 bill. How much change do they get? The choices would be worded in x(ten)dollar bills, x(five)dollar bills, x(one)dollar bills, x(quarters), x(dimes), x(nickels), x(pennies). Pretty easy 5th grade math. All together took about 20 minutes for the online assessment test. Next, I met with the manager in his office. He went over my resume, then asked a series of about 6 questions or so. Stock interview questions, such as "name a time when you had a customer who was irate with you/the store and how you handled it." This took about another 20 minutes. Afterwards, he said he had about 4 more interviews during the remainder of the day. He said he'd call everyone in 1-2 days, whether they got the job or not, so they wouldn't have to wait around. Well, that was on last Wednesday, and a week later I haven't heard back. I called him yesterday, and he said he hadn't come to a decision yet. Something about how he was waiting on other people he had hired and needed to see if they were going to accept the job, or something like that. Said he wouldn't know when he'd have a decision. Not even sure of how many positions they were looking to fill or anything like that. All together, an unorganized manager who kept waffling around, never giving me his clear intentions.
