The interview process here is a bit archaic and unnecessarily lengthy. Each interview is with a different individual on the engineering team working up to the management level. Then you meet with a consultant that determines if you’re a good personality fit for the company. I had a total of four interviews. After the fourth interview I was contacted by the engineering manager and asked if I was still interested. After providing my desired salary I was told that the numbers would be looked at. It’s been over a month and still no official offer. Mind you I told HR during the initial phone call what my desired salary was. The entire hiring process should be streamlined here. There is no need to go through four separate interviews. At most 2 are needed and then make an offer. I feel Human Resources experience such as this one is common place now but it can absolutely be avoided. I’ve find another position that didn’t drag this process out for two months from start to finish.
