we were called for the role of software developer, in the interview we got basic questions and programming questions. Once HR realizes we are not confident enough, lack knowledge, or easily diverted they will push us to some BPO-related job.

I was a UG graduate at that time, and for the software developer role the industry expects more than UG. why shouldn't you go for some voice process.
