The interview consisted of a full day of in depth scientific discussion with the hiring professor and a full 1 hour talk, including meetings with other laboratory members. I was tested on my scientific knowledge and creativity, and potential work projects were defined. The presentation is key to getting an offer, but scientists usually know you ahead of time. I had met the hiring professor at meetings and so we were already acquainted. They took me out to dinner at a nice restaurant in New Haven.

The interview process is a multi-stage evaluation for hiring, moving candidates from application to job offer by assessing skills, experience, and cultural fit through steps like screening calls, skills tests, and various interviews (phone, video, in-person, panel) with HR, managers, and potential teammates, culminating in a final decision
Friendly, informative, and not a lot of technical questions. Took an online interview, and the experience was great. However, they want more senior candidates. I met with only one person from the office and didn't see the professor or PI.
