Colloquio
I first applied for an opening I found on the Yelp website. A day later I received an email stating that a account manager would like a phone interview with me and gave me 3 times to choose from. They called on time and the guy was young and pretty cool. He gave the basics about the job and what I should be expecting. It went well and he told me he would like me to come in for a face to face interview with 3 managers. Though I live a ways away from SF so I asked for a Skype interview (i mean they are a internet company). Big mistake. The first two managers I spoke with were rather nice, we did some role-play and it went rather smoothly (I was prepared). Then the third interviewer come on and first thing she says is, "I hate Skype interviews". Wow. I was shocked but laugh it off. Then we get to role play and out of left field she says " sell me the pen in your hand". Anyway, no job offer, on to the next.

The interview process was pleasant from start to finish. It included a recruiter phone screen, a video call with the sales manager, a role play exercise, and the opportunity to implement the manager’s feedback.

One question they asked during my interview was what specifically about the role made me feel it was a strong fit for my background and experience.
The interview process with Yelp was a very organized experience. From the first email after I put in my application, to the offer extension call, I always felt well informed and included.

It was a one time interview over video call with a pre call before. One on one with a training manager. Pretty simple not too hard at all. Lasted 30 minutes with questions and role plays.
