This company seemed like an amazing place to work at. The culture seems great but unfortunately I was very disappointed with the way I was ignored after going through so many interviews.
I had 8 interviews divided in 5 sessions, and after all those I was told my application would be discussed with the hiring panel and then I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM THEM! Even after trying to contact the recruitment responsible. By the way, the time passed between the first phone call and the last email I received from them was about 4 months.
I thought this was very unprofessional and rude and disrespectful towards my time since I at least went through the final stage of the selection. I was left disappointed because this is an important warning on how employees would be treated.
The other warning sign came during the last two sessions of interviews where the interviewers really had no questions prepared and repeatedly said "I'm sorry, I'm not really good with interviews". There were some awkward silences whilst they thought about smethting to ask me. Im all in favour with having unconventional interviews and questions but would be great if there could be at least something prepared.
The first interview was easy and clearly just a screening process. Then I had an interview with the hiring manager where I was mostly asked about my experience and background and some specific questions related to project work.
afterwards I had a technical interview which was focused on networking engineering scenarios and concepts. Im confident everything was clearly answered.
I had then an interview again with the hiring manager which was mostly an explanation on how the organisation works within his team and a a Q&A session. That same day I met with a senior IT manager there who asked a lot about some technologies and my project work experience. And lastly I met a senior analyst who was super friendly and nice. I think he just sold me Zendesk as the best place to work but I was not asked any questions.
The next interview was with a project manager who even though seemed very cool had no idea what to ask me and we ended up telling each other some funny stories and maybe one or two relevant questions.
The last interview I had was with the head of Infrastructure and there were no relevant questions asked to me except for the same question everybody asked me "why zendesk?".
Despite the outcome I dont think it's fair to not even advise on the outcome of the application since there is time invested in the interviews and of course one becomes hopeful once all these inerviews are passed.
