I applied online and a week or so later, my potential manager reached out via phone to briefly discuss my skill set. She interrupted me, as I was in the middle of sharing my background (why ask if you're really not interested in the response?) to say she wanted to set up an on-site interview. I brushed her behavior off, as I was excited about the position. The following week, I received a follow-up email confirming my on-site 1:1 interviews with the team. My potential manager was 5-10 mins late (again, I let it slide because I was excited about the position). She checked her phone multiple times during our discussion, which was disappointing. The rest of the team was lovely and seemed very knowledgeable - they provided a lot of helpful information on the role and the company. The next steps were to submit a writing sample. This is where the communication fell apart on their end. I reached out to HR for an update a week later, and I was then asked to speak with one additional member of the team, who praised my writing sample. After that, I went a full two weeks without any sort of update. I finally emailed HR, who told me they were trying to "track down the team" for an update. I waited an additional two weeks after that before completely giving up. I haven't heard from ZoomInfo since. Other companies seem to have no problem communicating with candidates promptly during the hiring process so why does ZoomInfo struggle so much with this? Overall, this made me view the company in a very poor light. It didn't make me feel as if I would have been a valuable member of this team, as there was no priority to on-board someone, at least from my perspective.
