    Vantaggi

This is a sales job so the pros include having a great product to sell, various forms of sales incentives, and a pretty high earning potential. It's one of those high energy environments that embodies that "work hard play hard" mentality. Yes you are expected to work hard, meet metrics and all that, but they also value work-life balance and having a good time while you work. It is possible to achieve both. We work with people in different time zones & schedules of their own so understand that if you're not able to accommodate the customer, be prepared to potentially miss out on that sale. There's always some incentive going on for sales & performance, rewarding people that put the effort in and are able to achieve results. If you are confident in your ability to sell, then this can be an incredible and very rewarding position. There are certain performance standards that must be upheld, but they aren't unreasonable and can be pretty forgiving. The people are cool, the money is good, great benefits, and the opportunity is high. We all have the same hourly rate, are given the same tools, have access to the same leads; it's up to the individual to go out and make it happen...which is something I can appreciate. As someone with a high level of education and respectable work history, the money I make here absolutely blows any other salaried position I've had or are available to me out of the water.

    Svantaggi

This job can be extremely rewarding if you are performing well, or pretty underwhelming if you aren't. But then again this is sales - you're not getting paid some luxurious fixed hourly rate no matter what you do, you are getting paid to sell a product and are compensated in direct proportion to your ability to do so. The office can be loud and full of distractions...while it doesn't bother/affect me personally, I understand that it may it not be for everyone.

    Colloquio per Outbound Sales

Candidato anonimo a colloquio a Nottingham, Inghilterra (Regno Unito)

    Candidatura

Ho presentato la mia candidatura online. La procedura ha richiesto 1 giorno. Ho sostenuto un colloquio presso GoDaddy (Nottingham, Inghilterra (Regno Unito)) a giugno 2019.

    Colloquio

GoDaddy have been holding group sessions at a city centre hotel for a couple of months.

You will be sat in the lobby for 15 minutes left to your own devices as a crack team of 6 higher ups from GoDaddy sit in a conference room doing absolutely nothing, not bothering to come out to tell you what's going on or introduce themselves.

When they finally bring you in, one member will show you through the door and the other 5 won't even stand up to greet you a simple hello as you take your seat.

A generic middle management type with all the charisma of a doorknob will spend 10 minutes telling you how great GoDaddy is (his eyes are telling you he's lying the entire time) and that they only want the best of the best. He will then tell you with a straight face that GoDaddy plan on being as big as Google. You will try not to fall out of your chair.

You will then watch a video of the CEO trying to make the office look like a cool environment when all he wants is for you to make him more money.

You are split into 2 groups where 2/3 of your contemporaries will try to be the loudest person in the room despite not even knowing what products GoDaddy sells. They won't even know what website hosting means quite literally. You will be tasked with making a presentation for an app that could be made by GoDaddy to compliment the products it already has.

You might have noticed this has literally nothing to do with the job. Your proficiency at selling products you know about, one to one over the phone to existing customers is being gauged by your ability to make a presentation in a group about something you've invented.

Next up you will be given a sheet of paper with phones and their specs on one side and cameras and their specs on the other. You will sit back to back with another hopeful and be told one is the customer, one is GoDaddy - sell them a phone or a camera.

Again, the eagle eyed among you might have spotted that this is a woeful exercise to perform as GoDaddy sells neither cameras nor phones and neither person is going to act like a normal customer. The whole process is very strange and you will all ask what the hell just happened as you file out to wait for one on one interviews.

The one on one interviews are about 5 questions that have little relevance to anything. You will be asked if you have any questions and your mind will go completely blank as you wonder why this company just wasted 4 hours of your life with such a shoddy hiring experience.

You will get PTSD from visiting job boards for weeks afterwards as GoDaddy set up more and more of these assessment days trying to find the 'best of the best'.

If you're reading this before going to one, honestly don't bother!
