Despite the genuine interest from everyone in ensuring code quality and good practices, the high pace of development sometimes leads the time allocated for stabilization, documentation and tackling technical debt to be less than ideal. Same could be said of the open source efforts, which do exist and could attract talent to the company if they were nurtured adequately.

Make sure to include code quality consolidation and technical debt in the company's priorities and goals for each quarter, so that the team leads will have the mandate to allocate time for that work, ensuring that the small issues won't accumulate over time and slow down the team down the road.
